St Paul’s School

The start of 2013 will see the first workings in The Potter's House at St Paul's School. The pottery wheel had been purchased during the final term, and in the final weeks of the term the new kiln and stand arrived and has been installed. With the room tidied and ready to go i t w i l l b e " a l l systems ahead" for stu-dents. Whilst classes will not begin immediately, staff are planning a variety of activities and experiences for the children early in the year .

10c Dividend for Community Bank

Henty Community Financial Services Ltd has declared a dividend of 10 cents a share for the past financial year. The dividend was announced by board chairman Graham Booth at the company’s annu-al general meeting in November.

Henty Swimming Pool

Henty War Memorial Swimming Pool was offi-cially opened in 1959, after many years of fundraising. The Henty swimming pool is of historical and social importance and is a surviv-ing example of how a com-munity can work together to build a swimming facili-ty that can benefit every-one.

Henty Hospital Medical Cover

Henty Hospital will be without medical cover in the Emergency Department (ED) from Saturday 22 December until Monday 21 January due to the unavail-ability of the local GP Visiting Officer, Murrumbidgee Local Health District advised.

Exhibition at the Henty Library Garden to Impress and Inspire

A very special garden is set to tour the branches of Riverina Regional Library during the months of September, October and November. The Knitted Garden is a magnificent woollen sculpture of all the items you might see when you walk out of your own back door and has been crafted by the Griffith Natty Knitters.

The final meeting for this term of Council was held at Culcairn on 15 August, 2012 with a large number of people in the gallery, predominantly with an interest in Council’s deliberations on the Waste Management Strategy. Speakers on this subject and also on the matter of the upcoming fire season and risks associated with roadside verge vegetation growth addressed Council during the Public Forum.
