The sale of humble steak sandwiches and buckets of chips at the 2014 Henty Machinery Field Days (HMFD) will deliver new playground equipment to the children of Holbrook, assist disabled people to enjoy Culcairn’s Memorial Swimming Pool and give footy players a new surface to play on at Henty.

No longer preschoolers

The Henty Preschool is excited to have supported the transition of our largest group of children to Kindergarten in 2014. The children are beginning their formal schooling in fiveschools within the surrounding district and nearby cities. This transition is said to be a rite of passage that sets the tone and direction of a child’s school career (1).

17 more bonnets made

Finishing 17 more convict bonnets for the ship “Francis and Eliza” (1815) achieved a very successful outcome for Dr. Christina Henri of Tasmania, the creative mind behind the  Roses from the Heart project. The window display in Sladen Street will increase in numbers during the month as individuals will complete their bonnets, some from the “Arabian” (1847)

Art & Photography Exhibition

Henty’s 2014 Art and Photography Exhibition will be held over the weekend of March, 21 to 23. The opening night, Friday 21st, will see the unveiling of the Show Society’s 100th Anniversary Quilt in its new protective case. The quilt comprises panels that feature 60 district organisations that were iconic to our lives in the Henty District.
