New Donors Needed To Beat Cold And Flu Season

Henty residents are being urged to roll up their sleeves and give blood to help combat dwindling donor numbers as an early cold and flu season impacts on blood supplies.                                                             

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service needs new blood donors to compensate for the donors to compensate for the drop-off in appointments as donors fall ill with colds and the flu.

Council News

The first Council meeting for 2012 was held in Holbrook on 15 February. Presentations from Karen Gardner of Murray Arts and David Hicks, Project Manager of the group one cluster of the Strengthening Basin Communities Programme took place early in the meeting. Council is a member of both of these bodies and the reports updated us with regard to results and goals.

Hear the Word Launch at the Henty Library

The Future Arrives at Riverina Regional Library – ‘Hear the Words’

The Riverina Regional Library (RRL) will launch its Increasing Accessibility Library Initiative program, titled ‘Hear the Words’, at its Henty Branch Library on Friday 16 March 2012. This program will provide print disabled customers of all 14 branch libraries or RRL, including Henty, with access to audio players that will play a range of audio book formats including CDs and MP3s.
